Lampre - Merida (LAM)

Lampre-Merida has provided the overall winner of the Tour de Suisse for the last three years in the person of Rui Costa. Even last year he managed to wrest the overall win from Tony Martin on the final stage, after Martin had hung on to the leader's jersey from the first to the eighth stage. A bitter blow for the German and another triumph for the Portuguese rider and then World Champion. Unfortunately Rui Costa will not be riding in the Tour de Suisse this year. Instead, the young Italian Sascha Modolo could again be among the challengers for the sprints.

Lampre is an Italian manufacturer of building materials and has been active in professional cycling since 1990. Characteristic of Lampre is the pink jersey, to which has now been added the striking green of co-sponsor Merida. Merida is a Taiwanese cycle brand which has been producing bikes since 1972. The Lampre-Merida team has its headquarters in Lugano in Switzerland.
