Etixx - Quick Step (EQS)

Etixx – Quick Step has noticeably rejuvenated its team for the 2016 season with sprinter Marcel Kittel and other interesting signings.

21-year-old Colombian Fernando Gaviria, the 2015 & 2016 Omnium track world champion, is also a strong sprinter. Based in Steinhausen (ZG), Luxembourg-born rider Bob Jungels also switched from Trek Factory Racing to Etixx – Quickstep for the 2016 season. The second stage in Baar - a circular route that leads through his home town - is likely to be perfectly tailored to the Luxembourg national champion. A possible contender for the overall classification could be the lightweight, newly signed Irishman Dan Martin, who weighs in at a mere 59 kg.

Etixx produces nutritional supplements; Quick Step is a company marketing floor coverings. The team is managed by Patrick Lefevere. The former professional rider has now been active in the sport for forty years. The grocery discounter Lidl, with its Belgian subsidiary, joined the ranks of the sponsors in 2016.
