Lampre - Merida (LAM)
Between 2012 and 2014, Lampre-Merida provided the overall winner of the Tour de Suisse in the person of Rui Costa. The TdS organisers are curious to see whether Rui Costa will be joining the field for this year’s anniversary edition after deciding not to enter last year.
In 2015, Lampre rider Kristijan Durasek took the second stage in Risch/Rotkreuz after shrewdly breaking away from the pack some three kilometres from the finishing line.
Lampre is an Italian manufacturer of building materials and has been active in professional cycling since 1990. Characteristic of Lampre is the pink jersey, to which has now been added the striking green of co-sponsor Merida. Merida is a Taiwanese cycle brand which has been producing bikes since 1972. The Lampre-Merida team has its headquarters in Lugano in Switzerland.
