Team Sky (SKY)
In the form of Sky, the British have put together a team of superlatives – the measure of all things in terms of planning for success. Manager Sir Dave Brailsford is the meticulous mastermind behind the successes of British Cycling on track and road at the London Olympics in 2012. Brailsford has been working full-time for Team Sky for three years. An additional sponsor is "21st Century Fox", which, just like British pay-TV broadcaster "BSkyB", is part of News Corp, a group of companies belonging to media mogul Rupert Murdoch.
The black "knights" with the white Sky logo and blue stripes on their sleeve and back are always easily recognisable in the field of riders. Every rider is a champion in his field: Chris Froome, the impassive Tour de France winner, who often does not get out of the saddle even on the steep climbs. Or Geraint Thomas, the 2008 Olympic winner in team pursuit and today Froome’s loyal helper.
Geraint Thomas missed the overall victory at the 2015 Tour de Suisse by just 5 seconds. It's quite possible that he is planning to make amends at the anniversary edition in 2016.
