Commentary by David Loosli

The most difficult section is followed on the 6th stage by the longest of this year’s Tour de Suisse. At the start the riders have to master the Albula Pass from the opposite direction to the previous day. With the subsequent climb towards Lenzerheide, the cyclists leave behind them most of the altitude metres for this stage. A series of flat sections preceeds a steady up and down course for the last 50 kilometres or so. Fresh legs and a good position in the peloton are essential to win this stage. The last 2.4 kilometres to the finish are uphill and with 216 kilometres in the legs already, only the strongest on the day will be able to race for victory. Cyclists with an explosive attack are definite favourites.
