Team EF Education First – Drapac p/b Cannondale (EFD)
Since last season, the team of Jonathan Vaughters has been riding under the patronage of EF Education – a global provider of education and travel services. The cycling team of the Lucerne-based Swedish company rides in an eye-catching pink and violet jersey. The bold design by Rapha made waves in the cycling world at the start of the season.
Last season, it was the Canadian Michael Woods, in particular, who attracted attention with his stage win at the Vuelta in Spain and third place at the World Championships in Innsbruck. Former U23 Paris-Roubaix winner Taylor Phinney also stood out at the Tour de Suisse with his witty, laid-back nature and outlandish fashion accessories.
And in Rigoberto Uran, the team has an experienced leader among its ranks: the Colombian has twice come within touching distance of overall victory at the Giro d’Italia and has also finished on the second step of the podium in Paris.
A new addition for the 2019 season is the American Tejay Van Garderen, who won the seventh stage of the Tour de Suisse to Sölden in 2016.
