UAE Team Emirates (UAD)

The team financed by the United Arab Emirates has made several additions in preparation for the new season – including a Swiss pro, Tom Bohli. Bohli will be joined by the two Colombians Sergio Henao and Fernando Gaviria, two-time track world champion in the omnium. The 24-year-old Gaviria is one of the few riders in the same league as world champion Peter Sagan in the sprints.

They will be flanked by former Vuelta winner Fabio Aru, Irishman Daniel Martin and Norwegian classics specialist Alexander Kristoff.

Portuguese racer Rui Costa has also stayed loyal to the team. He sealed overall victory at the Tour de Suisse in 2012 to 2014. Whether he will line up at the TdS again this season is not yet known. It also remains to be seen whether Fabio Aru, who lives in Lugano, will be making more than just a flying visit to his colleagues by the team bus this year.

Former Tour of Flanders and Milan-San Remo winner Alexander Kristoff and last year’s Tour de France double stage winner Fernando Gaviria have already been confirmed.
