Who is hungry for the Women’s Leader Jerseys?
15. June 2022

The Tour de Suisse Women starts on Saturday 18th June in Vaduz. Which cyclists will be in the running for one of the coveted leader’s jerseys? We take a peek into our crystal ball.

Primeo Energie Leader Trikot

In contrast to the first edition of the Tour de Suisse Women, this year’s General Classification will be decided in the mountains. Based on our forecast, one of the following riders will sport the Yellow Jersey of Primeo Energieat the end of the Tour.

  • Évita Muzic (FDJ Nouvelle-Aquitaine Futuroscope)
  • Lucinda Brand (Trek-Segafredo)
  • Katarzyna Niewiadoma (Canyon/SRAM Racing)
  • Floortje Mackaij (Team DSM)

The French champion, Évita Muzic, wants to have a say in the overall victory, as does the runner-up in the cyclo-cross, Lucinda Brand.

However it remains to be seen whether the rouleurs will be able to amass enough of a lead during the first two stages in order to have a buffer in the mountains.

Search.ch Sprint Jersey

The pure sprinters like World Champion Balsamo and last year’s winner Bastianelli will duel for the points along with cyclists who can also be quick on a climb and make it over the mountains. The first stage in particular, which is a fast circuit, could be a cake walk for the two Italians. The following riders are in a strong position to win the black points jersey awarded by search.ch.

  • Elisa Balsamo (Treg-Segafredo)
  • Rachele Barbieri (Liv Racing Xstra)
  • Katarzyna Niewiadoma (Canyon/SRAM Racing)
  • Marta Bastianelli (UAE Team ADQ)

#swisscyclingfamily QOM Jersey

This year the Tour de Suisse Women has something to offer the climbers with two hilly to mountainous stages at the end of the Tour. Can Jolanda Neff, the Swiss rider used to tough climbs in the MTB World Cup, challenge for the jersey? As far as we are concerned the following riders could don the #swisscyclingfamily Queen of the Mountains Jersey.

  • Mikayla Harvey (Canyon/SRAM Racing)
  • Évita Muzic (FDJ Nouvelle-Aquitaine Futuroscope)
  • Jolanda Neff (Swiss Cycling National Team)

Lend.ch Youth Jersey

All cyclists under the age of 25 also compete for the classification of the Best Young Rider. This year Noemi Rüegg from Switzerland has as much chance of winning the jersey as last year’s winner Mikayla Harvey. We believe the following riders are candidates for the White Jersey awarded by lend.ch.

  • Noemi Rüegg (Jumbo-Visma)
  • Lina Riedmann (Jumbo-Visma)
  • Harvey Mikayla (Canyon/SRAM Racing)
  • Évita Muzic (FDJ Nouvelle-Aquitaine Futuroscope)
