A sports festival for the entire region at the upper end of Lake Zurich is about to begin.

The Landesrundfahrt returns to the Einsiedeln-Ybrig-Zurichsee region in June 2020. In the summer of 2019, Einsiedeln’s monastery square, the destination of the fifth stage of the Tour de Suisse, will already be thrilling thousands of cycling fans.
The breathtaking pictures of the finish lap around Lake Sihl and the finish line in front of the monastery will remain in the best of memories – not only in this country but also in 60 other countries. It is therefore not surprising that Simon Elsener, managing director of Einsiedeln-Ybrig-Zürichsee AG (EYZ AG), draws a thoroughly positive conclusion about the Tour de Suisse with the stage destination Einsiedeln.

On Monday, 8 June 2020, Lachen (SZ) will await the racers for an exciting finish.
The next day, the international field of drivers will start directly from the harbour on the lake promenade towards the Mittelland.

“The population of Lachen will celebrate the newly designed three public squares with a big party in the village centre on Saturday, 6 June 2020. We are delighted that shortly after these festivities we will be able to be the start and finish of the Tour de Suisse,” emphasises Pit Marty, Mayor of Lachen.

Lachen, with its beautiful location on Lake Zurich, offers the ideal starting point for relaxation and activities. The local recreation area with great cycle and bike paths convinces with great accessibility and a large catchment area. Moreover, from Lachen, one quickly gets to another world, for example to the Wägital with its mountains and the lake.

The stage town receives support not only from the municipality and the district of March, but also from Canton Schwyz and the Casino Pfäffikon.
The local OC is supported on the one hand by the Lachen am See tourist office and on the other hand by the Lachen Velo Moto Club. As in Einsiedeln, EYZ AG is the responsible body and contractual partner.
One can therefore expect another public festival for young and old.
