An employee of a participating team tested positive for Covid-19 on Friday. The PCR-test was taken on Friday morning and during the afternoon the result was received. The same person had tested negative last Saturday and Tuesday.

The affected person was immediately quarantined at the hotel. The person has no symptoms and feels fine. All members of the team were immediately subjected to a control test Friday evening. This morning the team was tested again with a new method. This morning the team was tested again with a new method. The goal of these additional tests is to be sure that person who tested positive was isolated before it was contagious.

Since Friday evening the organizer has been in contact with the responsible medical service of the canton and all decisions were taken together.

The affected team is allowed to continue the race due to the multiple tests and will do so. Due to the elaborate testing regime it can be ensured that neither the members of the affected team nor the members of other teams or persons are at risk.

We regret this second positive test result, but we are still very happy that the protection methods are working so that everyone in the Tour caravan safely continue the race. We wish the affected person a quick and complete recovery.
