At 9. and 10 June 2020, the top cycling sport will make a stop in the Lucerne hinterland.
On Tuesday 9 June, the tour of the country takes you from Lachen in Canton Schwyz to Pfaffnau (LU).
“With the additional loop through hilly terrain before arriving in Pfaffnau, the third stage of the Tour de Suisse 2020 will have a spring classic character, which should lead to an exciting race – on site and for the worldwide TV audience,” enthuses David Loosli, Sports Director of the TdS.
The following day, the start of the 4th stage of the Tour de Suisse 2020 will take place in St. Urban. The international field of drivers will start in front of the baroque 18th century St. Urban monastery in the direction of western Switzerland.
The local Veloclub Pfaffnau-Roggliswil, as an event-experienced club, is optimally prepared for such a major event.
The VC Pfaffnau-Roggliswil has already successfully organized various events such as the GP Tell, a stage of the Tour de Romandie 2001 or the international cross race GP Lucerne.
“Two days during which our region – thanks to the coverage in numerous media such as Swiss Television – will be in the focus of the public and the cycling world. We are expecting a central Swiss highlight for young and old, which we would like to turn into a public festival,” explains Michael Wechlser, OC President TdS Pfaffnau.
So a great bike party will be provided.
And thanks to the planned additional lap, the spectators in Pfaffnau will even get to see the racers drive past twice.
