The stage plan of the Tour de Suisse 2022 continues to reveal itself. The start weekend for men on 11th and 12th June 2022 will be held in Küsnacht on Lake Zurich. The municipality is looking forward to a great festival of cycling.
A first for Küsnacht
Never before has the Tour de Suisse been a guest in this Zurich municipality. Even more reason to celebrate the opening of the 85th Tour de Suisse in Küsnacht. “A starting hub within Switzerland’s largest metropolitan area means a lot of attention for cycling and the Tour de Suisse,” says Tour Director Olivier Senn. On Saturday 11th June 2022, the team presentation of the professionals as well as various activities for the entire community will take place at the start/finish area on the Forch. The actual starting signal will then be given on Sunday 12th June 2022 with a circuit over the Pfannenstil in the direction of Grüningen. It is expected that this course will be completed four times with the riders passing the finish line after each lap. “We are very pleased that Küsnacht can host the starting stage of the Tour de Suisse. The local OC is already hard at work to ensure an eventful day for spectators,” says Markus Ernst, Town Council President.
A Charming Village
Whether mountain biking from the Forch district through the Küsnacht Tobel to Lake Zurich, or on the road bike over the Limberg and the Allmend or Itschnach to the village centre – Küsnacht has a lot to offer, and not only for cyclists. Küsnacht boasts more than just low taxes, a wealth of villas and celebrity residents. With its 89 clubs and associations, active commercial sector and agriculture in the Küsnacht hills, it has remained a village of which the population can be proud. The Tour de Suisse will enhance this active village lifestyle with its visit to Küsnacht.
In early summer 2022, Küsnacht will host cycling at the highest level. We are looking forward to a spectacular event. More information on the route will be available in March.
