Flumserberg and Unterterzen to be stage locations for the Tour de Suisse 2019
InfrontRingier AG, the organiser of the Tour de Suisse, is delighted that the 2019 tour will have a stage finish in Flumserberg.
«Returning to Flumserberg is a real joy for the Tour de Suisse», said TdS General Director Olivier Senn at the contract signing.
Flumserberg has already been part of the Tour de Suisse route five times; in 2013, it was even the finishing location.
«The BikerNetzwerk is carrying on the tradition and is looking forward to the Tour de Suisse – its mix of captivating sport, exciting stories and international flair guarantees enthusiasm and attention from the general public», says Roger Walser, CEO of BikerNetzwerk AG.
A popular excursion destination, Flumserberg not only provides attractive routes and trails for mountain bikers; it also offers a crisp final climb, guaranteeing an exciting finish. In 1995, the Italian mountain specialist Marco Pantani won here.
«The challenging final climb will take place in the midst of a breathtaking, typically Swiss landscape, complete with a lake and an imposing mountain backdrop. These are the perfect conditions for unforgettable TV images», enthuses the Tour de Suisse’s Olivier Senn.
«We are also very much looking forward to collaborating with a familiar and seasoned organising committee.»
The organising committee, led by Balz Gadient, is very experienced and well set up for overseeing the start and finish lines.
