Children and young people who have critical or long-term illnesses or are disabled live in a world that is dominated by hospital stays, operations, sacrifices and restrictions. Into this difficult and often distressing everyday life, the Wunderlampe Foundation brings a moment of joy, a shining light, in the form of a wonderful, unforgettable experience. Since it was first set up in 2001, the Wunderlampe Foundation has been able to fulfil over 1600 wishes. Just as the fate of each individual child is different, so the Wunderlampe Foundation dedicates itself to fulfilling every single heart's desire, individually and with great sensitivity.
A brief explanation of the Wunderlampe Foundation
The careful planning and organisation that is involved when we are fulfilling a child's wish focuses not only on personal contact with the person making the wish, but also on close interaction with doctors and carers. On the day on which the wish is fulfilled, the family and a member of our "Dream Team" accompany the child. The privacy of the person concerned and family members is protected at all times.
With offices in Winterthur and Lausanne, the Wunderlampe Foundation operates throughout Switzerland and is funded by donations and contributions from benefactors. It is under the supervision of the Federal Foundations Authority of the Department of Home Affairs (EDI) and is tax-exempt in all cantons. www.wunderlampe.ch
