Andermatt Holiday Region comprises six municipalities: Andermatt, Hospental, Realp, Göschenen, Wassen and Gurtnellen. Andermatt lies in the Ursern Valley at 1,444 metres above sea level and its population counts approximately the same. Mobility around the Gotthard Massif can be demonstrated excellently by the history of the Ursern Valley: The central location in the midst of Alpine passes has been well known and actively used since Roman times. Historically, north-south travel has always best managed via the Gotthard, with only one mountain pass to cross.
Andermatt Holiday Region is just the right place for those who want to reach new heights on two wheels. The eight surrounding alpine passes and a wide range of bike trails allow you to get the most out of your road bike, mountain bike or e-bike.
Andermatt is an attractive destination for every age group and has been a focal point throughout the ages, whether due to trade, its strategic location or its touristic offering. In summer, the Alpine passes beckon with extraordinary views and hikes, and in winter the snow-blanketed valley glitters and sparkles like mountain crystal. Ski slopes for every level as well as cross-country ski trails and snowshoe trails are only a bit of what the region has to offer.
