Vaduz – Princely Residence and Alpine Capital
The capital of the Principality of Liechtenstein lies on the east bank of the river Rhine, at the foothills of the impressive Three Sisters Massif. Bike paths, mountain bike and hiking trails connect Vaduz to the neighbouring municipalities as well as to Austria and Switzerland. A large offer at short distance can be found in the bustling Städtle district nestled below famous Vaduz Castle, home to the Princely Family.
Culinary delights, fine arts and culture as well as, obviously, many shopping opportunities can be enjoyed in the central business district of Vaduz. From the sports perspective, local recreation areas, a forest experience trail or biking and hiking excursions don’t leave anything to be desired.
On Saturday, June 18th, 2022, the finish of the 7th stage of Tour de Suisse will be in Malbun, a popular hiking and skiing resort at 1600 m above sea level. Thus, the final ascent is quite steep, as some of you may remember from the 2011 edition of Tour de Suisse.
Tour de Suisse Women is scheduled to start in Vaduz on the same evening.
On Sunday, June 19th, 2022, the winner of Tour de Suisse 2022 will be ascertained by a time trial throughout the Principality of Liechtenstein starting and ending in the centre of Vaduz. Of course, there will be attractive side events and the best atmosphere for the final stage of the men’s Tour.
On Sunday, the Tour de Suisse Women’s time trial will follow the same route as the men’s, before leaving Vaduz for the next stage on Monday, June 20th, 2022.

There are only very limited parking spaces available in Vaduz and Malbun. For this reason we ask all visitors to arrive by public transport or bicycle.
Both Steg and Malbun will be closed to car traffic on June 18 from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., but not to bicycle traffic. On June 20, traffic restrictions will be significantly less.
