From St. Gallen the route runs constantly up and down in the direction of Ebnat-Kappel. But not along the most direct route, rather over some very scenic climbs. The Sitzberg and the Ricken are the biggest obstacles on stage 3. To be in the running for the day’s win and remain in the overall rankings, cyclists will need to display solid climbing skills. The finish in the picturesque village of Ebnat-Kappel is bound to be a highlight.
With 900 years of history this national monument is open to the general public.
Near the border between Canton Thurgau and Canton Zurich. The region is a paradise for nature lovers.
The Ricken Pass connects Toggenburg in Canton St. Gallen with the Linth plain. In summer the pilgrims of St. James and other wanderers cross the Ricken and in winter the area is a popular cross-country skiing area.
The double village of Ebnat-Kappel lies in Toggenburg and is the gateway to Obertoggenburg, the tourist region between the seven distinctive Churfirsten peaks and the Säntis.
