Martin Obrist

Function: Head of Neutral Race Service

Involved since: 2010

Why I'm part of the Tour de Suisse team: because I enjoy cycle racing and being part of the most beautiful tour. You get to meet up with old acquaintances and exchange information on what is new and exciting.

Ueli Anken

Function: Head of the Media Office

Involved since: 2018

Why I am part of the Tour de Suisse Team: Radio, press, TV, online: journalists’ work comes in many forms. The professionals with their cameras, microphones and notepads have to be able to rely on the content and technology within a tight time frame. That's why we as the TdS media team are there with the media crews at the stage locations.
Cycling and writing: both passions have accompanied me since I was a child. The first became a hobby, the second a profession. The spark that led to me combining the two came from a tweet by Kurt Betschart. I really like tweets like that. And I’m looking forward to working behind the scenes of the Tour de Suisse. Vive le vélo!

Beat Wettstein

Function: Head of Security

Involved since: 1990: Police motorcyclist with Zurich Cantonal Police/1992-1999: Motorcyclist for the security service/2000-2015: Sector Head/Head of Security

Why I'm part of the Tour de Suisse team: Cycle racing is pure action! With almost 60 motorcyclists, I protect racing cyclists at five to eight cycle races in Switzerland each year. My team is composed of members of a variety of Swiss police forces.  It's often the case that we only meet at cycle races and we enjoy the camaraderie as well as the action.  Our task gives us a sense of common purpose and friendships develop right across Switzerland. Of course the fascination with riding motorbikes also plays a big part (but unfortunately I no longer ride my motorbike at the TdS). It's also good fund to work with a good organiser. The planning and coordination are exciting and each day brings something unexpected!

David Perlini

Why I'm part of the Tour de Suisse team: It's an honour for me to be able to participate in a major event like this, to get to know a wide variety of areas (TV, advertising and cycle racing) and, in addition, to work with the local organising committee to organise an unforgettable day for the population.

Georges Lüchinger

Function: Head of Race Information

Why I'm part of the Tour de Suisse team: I like taking responsibility, working with partners who have a professional approach and sport itself – I can find all three of these at the Tour de Suisse, which is why I enjoy being head of a division at Switzerland's biggest sporting event.

Gregor Gisler

Why I'm part of the Tour de Suisse team: As a former cyclist, I’ll never lose my passion for cycling! And on top of that, I’m fascinated by the organisation involved in putting on one of the biggest sporting events in Switzerland.
When you’re involved in the TdS, you get to know a lot of people, and I really like everyone’s positive attitude and solution-oriented approach to new tasks (staff and local organising committees, helpers).

Pius Müller

Why I'm part of the Tour de Suisse team: I'm an enthusiastic road cyclist myself and really enjoy cycle racing. Sepp Wehrli

Why I'm part of the Tour de Suisse team: In my leisure time I'm involved as a Swiss Cycling official (jury/race director).   The Tour de Suisse is always the highlight of the year. For me it's an honour and a pleasure to take part as an official or head in the Tour de Suisse

Why I'm part of the Tour de Suisse team: I'm an independent PR specialist, and the Tour de Suisse offers me a complete change and an exciting environment compared with my usual day-to-day work. It gives me a chance to apply solution-oriented thinking, creativity and spontaneity to practical situations on a daily basis. I like that.

Steve Bovay

Why I'm part of the Tour de Suisse team: I got involved because cycle racing is a wonderful sport. Each year, cycle racing brings people of all ages and classes out onto the pavements. It's great! There's a fantastic atmosphere and the Tour de Suisse is a real family.

Why I'm part of the Tour de Suisse team: There's nothing better than being given a position of responsibility in such a famous sporting event, enjoying the trust of the organisers and being part of the TdS family. I'm a medical doctor, and what I do here falls within my core competences of emergency medical care, trauma surgery and orthopaedics.
