Temporary traffic regulation
On Friday, 16 June 2016, from 6 a.m. to approx. 2 p.m., the section of Bahnhofstrasse from the Arbon train station to the Steinach town limits will be blocked to through-traffic for the duration of the Tour de Suisse 2016 activities with the stage start on Friday, 16 June 2016 and the attendant set-up and tear-down. If you are a resident or trying to access Jumbo-Markt or the other shops in the Jumbo building, please follow the information available on site.
All though-traffic will be rerouted inside city limits via Amriswilerstrasse and the new through road to Steinach. Road users are asked to observe all the signs and comply with the directions given by law enforcement officials.
Arrival and parking
Due to limited parking, Tour de Suisse visitors are kindly asked to use public transport wherever possible. The starting area of Tour de Suisse is located on the Jumbo lot and the area between Bahnhofstrasse and the railway line. Please observe the signs directing you to the different parking lots. Some of the parking is subject to charge. Users are asked to pay the parking fees.
Arrival by public transport
The nearest public transport stops (bus and railway) are only a few minutes’ walk away. Arbon is located on the Zürich - Rorschach and Schaffhausen - Chur railway lines. Buses frequently run to and from the City of St.Gallen and the nearby region.
If you are travelling from Southern Germany, we suggest taking the car ferry from Friedrichshafen to Romanshorn. From there, take Haupstrasse, the main street, which will take you directly to downtown Arbon.
Arrival by car
Coming from St.Gallen und St. Margrethen/Rorschach, use the motorway feeder road. Take the Arbon-Süd exit to get to the designated parking spaces. Coming from the surrounding regions of Amriswil, Weinfelden, Frauenfeld and Kreuzlingen, drive to the city of Arbon as usual, then take Amriswilerstrasse and the new through-road (headed toward Rorschach) until you get to the designated parking spaces. You can also use the motorway feeder road outside Arbon and take the Arbon-Süd exit.
