With around 5000 hectares of vines, Valais is Switzerland’s most prolific wine growing canton. The landscape of the Rhône valley and the favourable climate in the Lower Valais – sunny and dry – are conducive to the cultivation of up to 60 different grape varieties. From Martigny to Leuk, there lies 82km of vineyards. Beyond these tower the imposing Valais Alps.
