Yet it aims to be more than just a sporting highlight: by 2027, CO₂ emissions are to be reduced by 50 percent – with the goal of being climate-neutral by 2030. To achieve this, the tour is relying on various initiatives and measures in conjunction with a wide range of target groups. The strategy takes into account the event organisation and suppliers, sponsors, fans, Host Cities and the participating professional Teams. “We want to become the most sustainable cycling race in the world,” says Mario Klaus, the person responsible for this issue at the Tour de Suisse.

Sustainability Integral to the Corporate Strategy
As the main sponsor of the Tour de Suisse, Primeo Energie supports these ambitions not only financially, but also in terms of content. After all, sustainability is also a top priority for the energy supplier from Münchenstein.
