The breakaway with Demi Vollering (Team SD Worx – Protime), Elisa Longo Borghini (Lidl-Trek), Neve Bradbury (Canyon//SRAM Racing) and Katarzyna Niewiadoma (Canyon//SRAM Racing) produced a thrilling finale. The duel between Neve Bradbury and Elisa Longo Borghini for second place behind Demi Vollering ultimately went to the young Australian, who finished behind Longo Borghini but was able to secure her place thanks to her four-second lead from yesterday’s stage.

The overall victory was no longer up for debate on the final stage. Demi Vollering once again proved her dominance on this Tour in the last stage and sprinted away from her rivals over the final metres. The Dutchwoman took three of the four stages – a demonstration of absolute supremacy. “I didn’t expect to win the stage today. But it was a lot of fun to sprint, I haven’t done that for a while,” said Demi Vollering after the race, “Winning the Tour de Suisse GC means a lot, as it’s almost a home race for me.”

Steffi Häberlin improves in GC

In the chasing group, Switzerland’s Steffi Häberlin (Swiss Cycling) produced a superb final sprint. She distanced the other riders in the group over the final metres to secure 5th place in the final stage. Häberlin made up seven places in GC, finishing in 22nd place. The best Swiss rider in the overall classification is Elise Chabbey (Canyon//SRAM Racing) in 14th place. It was already evident yesterday that Chabbey would take the KOM jersey today. For Chabbey, it is a repeat of last year’s success as Queen of the Mountains.

The dominant rider of this year’s Tour de Suisse Women, Demi Vollering (Team SD Worx – Protime), also claimed victory on the final stage.
