Preparations for the 2026 Tour de Suisse are well underway: with Locarno and Aarburg, the
planning of this year’s national tour stage locations is now complete. At the same time, the
organizers continue to drive the sustainable development of the race and are strategically
strengthening the partner network – including Decathlon as official outfitter and FOCUSWATER as a new strong partner. From a sporting perspective, the confirmed participation
of Noemi Rüegg, Stefan Küng and Demi Vollering – one of the world’s best cyclists – sends
a strong signal and underlines both the international class and the pronounced Swiss identity within the peloton.
Stage Locations 2026
The previously announced stage locations are Sondrio (ITA), Bad Ragaz (SG) and Villars-surOllon (VD). Locarno and Aarburg are now joining the line-up. The stages will be held exclusively
on circuit courses.
Stage 2: Locarno
With Locarno, the Tour de Suisse returns to one of the most renowned destinations in Swiss cycling. The municipality in Ticino on Lake Maggiore will provide an impressive backdrop for a stage
that promises to stand out both athletically and scenically.
Stage 4: Aarburg
The historic small town of Aarburg, with its striking fortress, is located in a region passionate about cycling and offers ideal conditions for a race close to the spectators. “The combination of established cycling regions and fresh impetus is what makes the Tour de Suisse so special,” says Olivier Senn, Director of the Tour de Suisse. “With Locarno and Aarburg, we are welcoming two host locations that perfectly reflect our ambition to make the diversity of Switzerland tangible.”
Decathlon Becomes New Official Outfitter
With Decathlon, the Tour de Suisse welcomes a world-leading sporting goods manufacturer as a partner. The company’s mission is to make sport accessible to as many people as possible. Decathlon will provide clothing for all volunteers, making an essential contribution to the successful delivery of the Tour de Suisse. The partnership is built on shared values such as passion for sport and the ambition to inspire and move people. “With Decathlon, we are gaining a partner that truly lives sport and has tremendous 46 8037 Zürich reach. Together, we want to further promote cycling and make the Tour de Suisse an equally inspiring experience for fans, partners, riders and the entire crew,” says Gabriela Buchs, CEO of Cycling Unlimited, organizer of the Tour de Suisse.
FOCUSWATER Joins the Partner Network
With FOCUSWATER, the Tour de Suisse strengthens its commitment to performance and health. The Swiss brand for functional vitamin drinks will supply the crew, the stage locations and spectators throughout the national tour. The partnership is based on a shared understanding of performance, recovery and conscious nutrition – values that are equally important in elite and amateur sport. FOCUSWATER thus complements the partner network in a key area for the organization, the local organizing committees and the fans.
Swiss Top Riders
At the beginning of March, Stefan Küng fractured his femur following a crash at a race in Belgium. Prior to the accident, the rider from eastern Switzerland – who has been racing for the Swiss team Tudor Pro Cycling since this season – had confirmed his participation in this year’s Tour de Suisse.
“Swiss riders shape the identity of our race. The fact that an athlete like Stefan Küng is now riding in the Tudor jersey further strengthens this connection. We wish him a speedy and full recovery,” says Sports Director David Loosli. If his recovery progresses well, a return to racing at the Tour de Suisse is conceivable.
In the women’s race, two riders with strong Swiss ties have also confirmed their participation in the 2026 Tour. Zurich native Noëmi Rüegg, third place in European and World Champion in the mixed relay, will be on the start line, as will world number one Demi Vollering, who lives in Central Switzerland and won the 2024 Tour de Suisse.
