Tour de Suisse 2026 – No Mercy from Start to Finish
Sports Director David Loosli has designed a route that leaves virtually no room to recover — transitional stages are nowhere to be found.
The race kicks off in the Italian town of Sondrio with a technically challenging circuit reminiscent of Il Lombardia. Stage 2 brings punchy terrain along Lago Maggiore, followed by a tactical battle on the Schwägalp climb around Bad Ragaz (Stage 3). The individual time trial in Aarburg (23 km, fast and technical) gives specialists their moment to shine, before the Queen Stage in Villars-sur-Ollon settles everything: a circuit starting on the Col de la Croix, with over 4,000 metres of climbing for the men and around 3,000 for the women — relentlessly up or down, barely a flat metre in sight.
For the first time, the Tour de Suisse presents both the women’s and men’s races with largely parallel route designs.
