Tour de Suisse – More than just a Cycle Race

On 11th June the 86th Tour de Suisse starts with a Time Trial in Einsiedeln. The supporting programme connected to the fourth-largest tour on the cycling calendar kicks off the day before. During the 10 days of the race, various side events are also scheduled.

The first official event on the programme is the men’s Team Presentation on Saturday 10th June on the festival grounds in Einsiedeln. The cyclists will be introducted between 5.30 and 7.00 pm giving fans the opportunity to see national cycling heroes like Stefan Küng, Gino Mäder and Marc Hirschi in the flesh.

Roadside entertainment is guaranteed
Fans along the course always enjoy the Publicity Caravan, which precedes the race by about an hour. Around 20 vehicles from various Tour de Suisse partners will be handing out give-aways and warming up the crowds with music. To get your hands on these give-aways you need to be on the right-hand side of the road. That’s the only place where the cars stop and hand out huts, drinks, chewing gum and much more. The precise passage times can be found in the daily schedule for each stage.

In addition to the Publicity Caravan this year there will be stands at selected KOMs where give-aways will also be distributed. Making the ascent yourself on your bike could pay off!

All spectators who prefer to follow the race in the finish area can pass the time before the cyclists arrive in the Tour de Suisse Village. The partners in the Village provide, among other things, competitions, games and great give-aways.

The Tour de Suisse for Kids

It is never too early to start! This motto also applies to cycling. For the youngest fans of the Tour de Suisse there is Kids World presented by Fizzy and Primeo Energie on both weekends. Near the start and finish areas children can get a taste of cycling and demonstrate their skills in various disciplines. Our coaches will be on hand to help them have a great adventure on the pump track or the obstacle course.

And for even the youngest kids there is also a daily Primeo Energie Kids Race on the finishing straight. The popular balance bike race takes place at each stage finish. Balance bikes, helmets and T-shirts will be provided on site. Together with the Tour de Suisse mascot “Tourli”, parents can cheer on their little ones as if they were Pros.
